Since I became a full time foodie, my favorite day of the month is the day when more than 700 Daring Bakers post on their blogs their creations for the month’s challenge. What am I talking about?

Last December I joined a group called the Daring Bakers. Each month these bloggers bake something new and challenging. The challenge is a secret until the day of the month when we all post our results to the world. It is fun. It is exciting and it is delicious!

This month’s challenge was to make a Perfect Party Cake taken from Dorie Greenspan’s book From my Home to Yours. Usually we must follow the recipe to the lette, but this month’s hostess, Morven, gave us the change to play with it, as long as we used the basic cake recipe and we made a layered cake.

I am not a big fan of white cakes. That’s why I decided to make a combination of chocolate and banana with a strawberry filling. It turned out delicious! Would you like a slice?
